Wintergrass 2010
Please read the following information to help decide if
volunteering is for you. Feel free to
e-mail Sharon Alford, Volunteer Coordinator, at wg2010vol@verizon.net
with any questions you may have about being a part of Wintergrass 2010.
Many volunteers at Wintergrass return each year. As
this is very helpful to the festival, priority is given to experienced
volunteers--followed by new volunteers on a first come, first served basis.
Please keep in mind that there may not be openings on certain crews.
Some
crews are open to returning, pre-approved volunteers only. BACKSTAGE, BAND
SERVICES, HOSPITALITY and CONSTRUCTION crews are only open to returning
volunteers or by invitation from management. If you are ON one of these crews,
please sign up on line, and then contact your Task Coordinator directly to
verify your placement. CREW DESCRIPTIONS It is important to meet and greet festivarians with a

Asked Questions about Volunteering
About 250 volunteers
gather each year to make Wintergrass a successful, enjoyable event for our
patrons. Many return each year and plan their vacations at that time. How does volunteering work? The minimum age to
volunteer is 18. Volunteers must be available
for all four days of the festival (Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday). Some crews begin prior to Thursday (see Crew
Descriptions). Please DO NOT APPLY if you cannot volunteer all four days. Volunteers are assigned to crews by
Sharon Alford, Volunteer Coordinator. Shifts and specific duties are assigned
by your Task Coordinator. Choose your top three crew choices keeping in mind
that it is not always possible to have your first choice. Work schedules vary.
In exchange for a full festival pass Volunteers are required to work
approximately 4-5 hours per day for a minimum of three days, depending on the
crew. Consumption of Alcohol: Volunteers must be 100% sober while
working. Reporting to work inebriated or drinking on the job will result in
loss of volunteer status and festival privileges. What if I already bought a ticket? If you bought a
ticket, you need to turn it in when you check in at the Volunteer Registration office.
After you have fulfilled your volunteer obligation we’ll refund the purchase
price of your full festival pass. What if I need to cancel? If you are going to be
late or need to cancel after Wednesday, call
425-773-1426 to preserve your good standing. What if I must see my favorite band? We will make every
effort to schedule you around your favorite band (if there is one), but we
can’t guarantee it. There is a section on the application to note your
favorite band. What if I must work with my friend? There is a section on
the application where you can put the person(s) name. Please submit
applications within the same week. If you submit them too far apart the positions
and schedules may be filled. What if I cannot make the volunteer meeting? The volunteer meetings
are on Thursday-Feb 25 @ Noon, Friday-Feb 26 @ Noon, and 7pm at the Hyatt Hotel
in Bellevue. The email you receive will give some specific details of
what is expected of you. Also, your Task Coordinator will give you more
specific details at the volunteer meeting. If you absolutely cannot make the
meeting, please check in with your Task Coordinator at least 10 minutes before
your first shift begins. Even if you have volunteered in the past, the
volunteer meeting is still highly recommended for a number of reasons:
